Product Description

XST-258-8V Automated Steam-Free Fusing Machine for Precision Garment Seam Bonding

Product Overview

A bonded seam is only as good as the bond that holds it. When an interlining strip lifts along the edge of a lapel or a front panel a few weeks after production, the cause is usually one of three things: moisture trapped inside the shell, a head that drifted away from its set temperature, or a strip that entered the head out of line. The XST-258-8V is an interlining bonding machine arranged around those three variables rather than around throughput alone.

The machine works dry. It brings the adhesive to its activation point by heated contact and mechanical feed instead of through a steam cycle, so no water enters the shell at the moment the bond is formed. That takes the condensation under a steam iron out of the process, and with it the moisture that later appears as inconsistent shrinkage, yellowing or mildew in stored garments.

Two figures frame the rest of the settings. Working temperature is adjustable from 150 °C to 350 °C and is fixed per fabric rather than per piece; the working width is 6-20 mm. Inside that envelope the head reaches temperature in 8 seconds, the stroke runs continuously, the strip is driven from above and below at once, and power consumption is listed at 300 W.

Limitations & Constraints

  • Strip bonding only. The 6-20 mm width covers seam strips and piping tape. Whole-panel interlining falls outside the range of this head.
  • One band per run. Temperature is set by fabric type, so a batch that mixes fabrics needs the setting changed between them rather than mid-piece.
  • Site services. Power and air have to reach the point of use; no steam boiler, water feed or condensate line is involved.

Working Principle

The bond depends on three conditions meeting at one point: the adhesive reaching its activation temperature, staying there through the contact, and arriving in line with the seam.

Heat delivered without a water side

Heating is direct and dry. A high-precision sensor reads the head at millisecond level and the control corrects for drift while the machine runs, so the band set for a silk shell or a high-elastic knit stays where it was set. With no steam generator and no water feed, nothing condenses in the fabric, and the shell leaves the head as dry as it entered it.

A stroke that does not stop between pieces

The stroke is continuous rather than intermittent. An intermittent head closes, dwells and opens on every piece, and each of those stops is a place where contact time and contact pressure shift slightly. A continuous stroke gives the strip the same dwell on the first meter of a run and on the last, which keeps bond strength level across a batch instead of drifting toward the end of a shift.

How the interlining bonding machine keeps the strip in line

The strip is cut automatically and driven from above and below by two servo motors at a matched rate, so it reaches the head already centered on the seam. The arrangement is covered by patent ZL 2024 2 1833237.3, a movable feeding device. A strip that arrives off-line is bonded off-line, and no later pressing stage recovers it. Straight runs and left or right curved seams are both supported, and a corner comes off the head flat and unmarked, bonded on the same setting as the straight run beside it.

Application Scope & Selection Tip

This interlining bonding machine was developed for men's and women's apparel, where the strip is what holds a collar, a lapel or a front edge in shape for the life of the garment. The selection list covers suits, trench coats, parkas, jackets, leather garments, evening wear, uniforms and professional attire, with the strip bonded along straight and curved seams.

Fabric coverage follows the temperature band. Cotton, linen, silk, chemical fibers and high-elastic materials sit inside 150-350 °C, with one setpoint agreed per material rather than adjusted piece by piece at the table.

Three checks are worth making before an order is quoted. Confirm that the strip widths in production fall inside the 6-20 mm working width. Confirm that the point of use can supply AC 220 V ±10%, 50/60 Hz together with ±0.6 MPa. Then fix the temperature for each fabric in advance, since the machine holds one band through a run.

Business Benefits For Garment Factories

  • Fewer bonds that let go. Adhesion losses trace back to moisture, temperature drift or misalignment. Working dry, holding one band through the run and feeding the strip from both sides at a matched rate address all three where the bond is made.
  • Cleaner goods in storage. Because no steam enters the shell, the condensation that produces color change and mildew during warehousing is never introduced.
  • Output that does not follow the operator's rhythm. A continuous stroke and automatic feeding replace the stop-start of hand pressing, so pieces from the morning shift and pieces from the late shift leave the head under the same conditions.
  • Lower running cost. Power consumption is listed at 300 W, which the manufacturer places at roughly one tenth of conventional steam equipment. With no boiler on the line there is no water treatment, no pressure vessel and no boiler to bring up to pressure before the first piece.
  • Shorter ramp-up for new operators. The manufacturer states that the interface is simplified and that no specialist training program is required before an operator can run the unit.

FAQs

Why do interlining strips separate after a few washes, and does the machine address the cause?

Separation traces back to how the bond was formed rather than to how the garment was handled afterwards: moisture present when the adhesive activated, a head below its set temperature for part of the contact, or a strip that ran off the seam line. At the head this unit controls all three — the process is dry, one band is held through the run, and the strip is fed from above and below at a matched rate.

How is the temperature set for a fabric that is new to the line?

The band is adjustable from 150 °C to 350 °C and is chosen by fabric type, not by piece. Once the value is agreed, the control holds it through the run and corrects for drift, so a new material does not require a fresh trial-and-error round each time it returns to the line. The head reaches working temperature in 8 seconds, which makes checking a first piece quick.

What does the station need on site, and does it need a boiler?

AC 220 V ±10%, 50/60 Hz and ±0.6 MPa of working pressure at the point of use. There is no steam generator, so the installation has no boiler, no water feed and no condensate line, which is also why the pressing room stays dry.

How much of the bond result still depends on the operator?

Temperature, feed rate and strip alignment are held by the machine. The operator sets the fabric and its temperature before the run, places the strip and guides the work through the head, including left and right curves. The manufacturer states that no specialist training program is required before an operator can run the unit.
